Canadian American Express Membership Rewards cardholders have a new way to use their points for hotel stays.
American Express and ALL Accor announced a new global partnership in July 2026, adding ALL Accor as a Membership Rewards transfer partner in Canada. The partnership covers Accor’s portfolio of more than 45 hotel brands, including Fairmont, Raffles, Sofitel, MGallery, Pullman, Novotel and ibis.
For Canadians, Fairmont is probably the most exciting part of the partnership. Instead of being limited primarily to Marriott Bonvoy and Hilton Honors for hotel transfers, Membership Rewards points can now be converted into ALL Accor Reward points and used toward participating Fairmont hotels in Canada and around the world.
There is also an additional benefit coming soon for Platinum cardholders. American Express Consumer, Small Business and Corporate Platinum Cardmembers have been announced as eligible for complimentary ALL Accor Gold status as the partnership rolls out.

Amex Membership Rewards to Accor Transfer Rate
The transfer rate for Canadian American Express Membership Rewards cardholders is:
1,000 Membership Rewards points = 500 ALL Accor Reward points
Transfers must be made in increments of 100 Membership Rewards points, with a minimum transfer of 1,000 points and a maximum of 999,900 points per transfer. Transfers are normally completed immediately, although Accor recommends allowing up to 48 hours.
Once Membership Rewards points have been transferred to ALL Accor, the transfer cannot be reversed.
There is also an important distinction between ALL Reward points and Status points.
Membership Rewards points transferred from Amex become ALL Accor Reward points. They do not count as Status points toward earning or maintaining ALL elite status.
That means transferring a large number of Amex points will not move you closer to ALL Silver, Gold, Platinum or Diamond status.
What Are ALL Accor Points Worth?
At first glance, a 2:1 transfer ratio might not sound particularly exciting. The important difference is how ALL Accor values its points.
ALL currently lets members redeem Reward points toward eligible hotel stays at a fixed value of:
1,000 ALL Reward points = €20 (appx $32 CAD)
Reward points can be used toward part of an eligible stay, starting from 1,000 points.
That makes the Amex to Accor transfer value relatively easy to calculate.

In other words, one Membership Rewards point transferred to Accor has a hotel redemption value of €0.01 (appx 1.6¢ CAD).
What I like about the Accor program is the predictability. With airline programs such as Aeroplan or British Airways Club, you can potentially extract much more value from Membership Rewards points, but the value depends heavily on the specific flight you book.
Accor is different. You know roughly what your points are worth before transferring them.

Which Hotels Can You Book With ALL Accor Points?
ALL Accor covers more than 45 hotel brands worldwide, ranging from economy hotels to some of the most recognizable luxury properties in the world.
Some of the major brands include:
- Fairmont
- Raffles
- Sofitel
- MGallery
- Pullman
- Mövenpick
- Swissôtel
- Novotel
- Mercure
- ibis
For Canadians, Fairmont is the obvious standout.
Properties such as Fairmont Banff Springs, Fairmont Chateau Whistler, Fairmont Pacific Rim, Fairmont Empress and Fairmont Le Château Frontenac are part of the Accor portfolio. This creates a direct path from Membership Rewards points to stays at some of Canada’s best-known hotels.
That’s a meaningful addition to Membership Rewards, particularly if you already collect Amex points but don’t want to transfer them to an airline.

How to Transfer Amex Membership Rewards Points to Accor
Transferring Membership Rewards points to ALL Accor is fairly straightforward, but there are a few things worth checking before you move the points.
1. Join ALL Accor
You need an ALL Accor account before transferring points.
Your Membership Rewards points can only be transferred to your own associated personal ALL Accor account.
If you don’t already have an ALL account, membership is free.
2. Log In to Your American Express Account
Log in to your American Express Membership Rewards account and navigate to the travel transfer partners.
ALL Accor should appear as one of the available hotel transfer partners for eligible Canadian Membership Rewards accounts.
3. Link Your ALL Accor Account
Add your ALL Accor membership information and link it to your Membership Rewards account.
Double-check the account information before proceeding. The ALL account needs to belong to the Membership Rewards member making the transfer.
4. Choose How Many Membership Rewards Points to Transfer
The transfer ratio is 2:1.
For example:
- 1,000 MR = 500 ALL Reward points
- 10,000 MR = 5,000 ALL Reward points
- 50,000 MR = 25,000 ALL Reward points
Before transferring, check how many ALL Reward points you actually need for the stay you’re planning.
5. Confirm the Transfer
Transfers are normally immediate but can take up to 48 hours. More importantly, they cannot be reversed once completed.
For that reason, I wouldn’t transfer a large Membership Rewards balance to Accor speculatively.
Find the hotel you want first, determine how many points you need and then make the transfer.
6. Redeem Your ALL Reward Points
ALL Reward points can be used toward participating hotel stays through ALL.com and the ALL app, with redemptions starting at 1,000 Reward points for a €20 discount (appx $32 CAD).
You can use points to reduce the cost of a stay rather than needing enough points to cover the entire booking.
That makes Accor useful for expensive Fairmont stays in particular. Even if your points don’t cover the entire bill, they can still take a meaningful chunk off the cash price.
Amex Platinum Cardmembers Are Getting ALL Accor Gold Status
The transfer partnership is available more broadly to eligible Membership Rewards cardholders, but the new relationship becomes more interesting for Platinum cardholders.
As part of the new global partnership, Accor announced that American Express Consumer, Small Business and Corporate Platinum Cardmembers will be eligible to receive ALL Accor Gold status.
This is separate from transferring Membership Rewards points.
Normally, ALL Gold status requires 30 qualifying nights or 7,000 Status points.

What Does ALL Accor Gold Status Include?
Accor currently lists Gold status as including all Silver benefits plus:
- Guaranteed room availability
- *Room upgrade
- Early check-in or late check-out
- 48% bonus on Reward points earned during stay
Gold members can also receive a welcome amenity at participating brands, while individual benefits remain subject to the applicable ALL program terms and property availability.
*The room upgrade benefit is particularly useful, although it is subject to availability at check-in. Accor also specifically notes that at Fairmont hotels, the upgrade does not apply to Fairmont Gold Floor.
That’s an important distinction. ALL Gold status and Fairmont Gold are two completely different things. Holding ALL Gold does not give you access to Fairmont Gold lounges.
When Will Amex Platinum Accor Gold Status Launch in Canada?
This is the part of the partnership that isn’t fully live yet.
Accor’s July 22, 2026 announcement states that eligible Consumer, Small Business and Corporate Platinum Cardmembers will be eligible for ALL Accor Gold as the partnership rolls out across participating countries, including Canada. It also says country-specific details will be released throughout the year.
Platinum vs Business Platinum for Accor Travellers
Both the personal Platinum Card and Business Platinum Card earn Membership Rewards points that can be transferred to participating travel partners.
The new Accor partnership also specifically covers Consumer and Small Business Platinum cardholders for the announced ALL Accor Gold status match.
That gives both cards another potential hotel benefit once Canadian Gold enrolment goes live.

Should You Transfer Amex Points to Accor?
Accor is a useful addition to the Membership Rewards program, but that doesn’t mean you should automatically move your points there.
I would strategize transferring Amex points to Accor when:
- You have a specific Fairmont or other Accor stay in mind.
- You know how many Reward points you need.
- You want a predictable hotel redemption rather than searching for airline award availability.
- Using ALL Reward points will meaningfully reduce the cash cost of a stay.
- A future Amex to Accor transfer bonus makes the economics even better.
I’d prefer to leave the points with American Express when:
- You don’t have an Accor stay planned.
- You may want to transfer the points to an airline instead.
- You value having several redemption options available.
- You’re transferring simply because you have a large Membership Rewards balance.
Membership Rewards points are most useful when they’re flexible.
Once you transfer them to Accor, they’re locked into ALL and can’t be moved back to American Express.
Unless I had a specific redemption planned, I would leave the points with Amex and transfer them only when I was ready to book.
Bottom Line
The most interesting thing about the new Accor partnership is that Membership Rewards now have a predictable path into Fairmont and other Accor properties, with each Amex point effectively becoming one euro cent of hotel value.
For me, that makes Accor a useful new option rather than the new best use of Membership Rewards. I would still keep my points with Amex until I had a specific Accor stay to book, but it’s now a much stronger alternative to simply redeeming Membership Rewards for a one-cent-per-point statement credit.
For Platinum cardholders, complimentary ALL Gold will be a worthwhile extra once it launches in Canada, but I see it as a bonus rather than a reason on its own to get the Platinum Card.
