Premier and Platinum 2018 Fairmont Certificates Available Now
As of March 1, Fairmont President’s Club members should see their 2018 Fairmont Certificates available online through their member profile. Certificates are valid until February, 2019, although the Fairmont President’s Club will end as of July 2, 2018 at which point it will be replaced with Le Club AccorsHotels and property benefits will change. To view your certificates, simply login to your Fairmont President’s Club account and click on ‘my certificates’ tab under your profile. You should see the full set loaded by now, though there are some reports on Flyertalk that certificates were delayed in posting.
For Premier and Platinum members who may not know, Fairmont is offering a second set of certificates as sort of a ‘parting gift’ for members who stay two qualifying nights between now and July 1, 2018. These certificates will be available on July 2, and expire in February of 2019.
Be aware that certificate use is limited at the Savoy Hotel in London and The Plaza Hotel in New York (though I did once have some really good luck redeeming a free-night certificate there) and other hotels are subject to limited access dates, with full details for each property here (there seems to be more hotels imposing limited access this year).
Additional Platinum Benefits
For members who made Platinum status in 2017, there are two additional benefits to choose in addition to the certificates issued. All members are entitled to choose two options from the following list, which can be found by clicking on ‘My Benefits’ tab through your member profile.
AUTHENTICALLY LOCAL FOOD EXPERIENCE FOR TWO
Treat yourself and a guest to an authentically local food experience and taste the fresh and seasonal dishes your destination has to offer. Upon confirming your selection, an e-certificate will be added to your online profile
DINING/WILLOW STREAM SPA E-CERTIFICATE
Relax in the spa or embark on a culinary journey with a $100 USD e-certificate to use towards your choice of lunch, dinner or a Willow Stream Spa treatment. Upon confirming your selection, your e-certificate will be added to your online profile.
ROOM UPGRADE E-CERTIFICATES
Enhance two of your Fairmont stays with room upgrades. Upon confirming your selection, two e-certificates will be added to your online profile.
SUITE UPGRADE E-CERTIFICATE
Enjoy the Suite Life. Create your next memorable experience by upgrading to a suite at your favourite Fairmont Hotel. Upon confirming your selection, an e-certificate will be added to your online profile.
FAIRMONT ELECTRONIC GIFT CARD
A memorable way to celebrate any occasion! Treat yourself or someone you love to a $50 USD Fairmont electronic gift card. Just like a Fairmont Gift Card, you can use this e-certificate towards dining, shopping or leisure activities at over 60 locations worldwide. The full list of terms and conditions can be found here, though the important one to note is benefits must be selected by April 30, 2018 (and will have the same expiry as other Platinum certificates). Members who fail to choose benefits before April 30th will lose out on the extra certificates.
2018 Fairmont Certificates Bottom Line
Brad and I will both be choosing the $100USD dining/spa certificate, and the authentically local food experience for two. Last year we chose the dining/spa certificate and the $50USD electronic gift card, but since we’re going to Maui in a couple of weeks, we thought the dining experience would provide more value at The Fairmont Kea Lani, which offers a 3-course steak and seafood dinner for their local food experience.
All said, this is going to be a great year! Between the two of us, we’re going to have (factoring in the additional set of certificates issued in July, which we’ve both already qualified for):
- 4 free night certificates
- 8 suite upgrade certificates
- 8 room upgrade certificates
- $600USD dining/spa credits
- 2 authentically local dining experiences
Our plan is to use the certificates we have now while The Fairmont President’s Club is still active, as beginning July 2, 2018 the Le Club AccorHotel program will no longer offer guaranteed early check-in and check-out, which is a benefit we value immensely on one-night stays. We have plans to use a free-night certificate at The Pacific Rim this weekend, with The Director of Rooms offering a comp upgrade to a Stanley Park Suite or Gold Floor Room as a gesture from our underwhelming stay a couple of weeks ago. The other free-night certificate will be used at The Fairmont Kea Lani on our trip to Maui this month, at which point we also hope to use one of the authentically local dining experience certificates.
To say I’m disappointed the Fairmont President’s Club is ending is an understatement, but I’m grateful for the parting gift in the form of 2 sets of certificates in 2018, and look forward to some great experiences in the coming year!
How do you plan to use your 2018 Fairmont Certificates?
yup
i though t a new set of certificates means free suite upgrades adn room upgrades willow spa certificate? i didnt knwo it meant free nights for platinum members can you explain that ?
Tyler Weatherup
Hi,
The new set of certificates includes anything you were eligible for based on your status level. So for Platinum members, that would include the suite/room upgrade and dining/spa certificates you mention, in addition to the free-night certificate!
