We arrived at 5:35pm while there was still plenty of food available.

The salad bar at the Harrah’s lounge was more diverse than the other lounges and included spring mix, Mediterranean Greek salad, Thai salad, pasta salad and coleslaw. Most seemed to only offer green salad and the same veggies each night, so that was a welcome treat.

Salad dressings included Greek, ranch, and I believe a raspberry balsamic vinaigrette.

And although the hot food options didn’t support it, I was pleased to see there was also lots of guacamole, pico-de-Gallo, and salsa available to snack with some tortilla chips or to add to a salad.

Surprisingly, guacamole or sour cream was not made available on Mexican night at the Caesars Palace Diamond Lounge, but here there was an unlimited helping of the delicious avocado dip that’s almost certain to be an up charge at most restaurants. That’s bonus points in my book.

Green beans and veggies, chicken skewers, and lasagna were on the menu for the hot food items, with plenty of cupcakes, cookies, pastry items, and mini long john donuts for dessert. There was also coffee and tea available, with a self-serve fountain pop machine. As with all other Caesars Laurel Lounges, alcoholic drinks are brought to your table by your server.

The Harrah’s Lounge is a cross between “Cheers”, the popular 80’s sitcom, every outdated sports bar you’ve been in, a family buffet minus the kids, and the quirkiest bathroom I think I’ve seen. Needless to say, I loved it.

The lounge itself was small, very dimly lit, with buffet style seating, and bar seating, and lots of TV’s to watch the game from any vantage point.

After a few drinks, it was time to use the bathroom.

I assumed the lengthy L-shaped entrance led to bathroom stalls, as there was a lady washing her hands at the sink. Nope. Just a single toilet divided by a half-wall partition in a big open room with 5 scattered chairs, 3 garbage pails, and a sign that read “theSpa at Harrah’s”.

The lady before me clearly forgot to lock the door behind her, as did I.

You’ll probably realize you forgot to lock the door too, just in time to have an awkward encounter with the next stranger coming around the corner, as shocked as you are there are no bathroom stalls.

It’s been keeping me up at night, but when was the last time this was a “spa”, and why is it directly beside the kitchen, bar and buffet? And the chair to occupancy ratio is way off. What are all those chairs used for?…

Welcome to the “spa!” Don’t forget to lock the door behind you!

Conclusion

Even though Harrah’s Lounge is quirky, I still really enjoyed it, and as always, the service was excellent. However,I’m rating it #4 out of 5 Vegas Laurel Lounges because I assume once you’ve reached the status tier of being able to visit the Laurel Lounges, you probably have a healthy disposable income and are expecting a little more sophisticated atmosphere than Harrah’s has to offer. If that’s you, then you’ll likely want to experience the Caesars, Paris and Planet Hollywood Laurel Lounges. But if you love the comfort of outdated sports pubs like I do, this is the place for you.

And guys, is the men’s washroom as quirky as the womens’? Let us know with a comment below.
