The last update to the Card was in August, 2021 when the Card was devalued down to 40,000 points from the sizzling summer offer of 75,000 points in June. The Card’s welcome bonus had nowhere to go but up from 15,000 points offered prior.
Is the Amex Aeroplan Card Worth it in Canada?
60,000 points is a strong welcome bonus for this Card. We likely won’t see a summer of 2021 repeat this year, so 60,000 Aeroplan points may be as good as it gets for the rest of the year and maybe even into next year based on the updates we’ve seen to this Card.
Now is a good time to apply for the Aeroplan Card with a relatively strong welcome bonus of 60,000 points.
Welcome Bonus Requirements
Here’s how you can earn up to 60,000 Aeroplan points:
- Earn 15,000 Aeroplan points after spending $1,500 in the first 3 months of Cardmembership.
- Plus, earn 5X the points on eligible Air Canada, Air Canada Vacations, hotels, and car rental purchases for the first 6 months, up to 15,000 Aeroplan points.
- Then earn 2,500 Aeroplan points each month you spend $500 in purchases on your Card for the first year of Cardmembership. That could add up to 30,000 Aeroplan points.
